About the Role
Apex Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Engineer for a client in the Miami, Florida area. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-quality mobile applications across iOS, Android, and hybrid platforms.
The ideal candidate will have strong native mobile development experience with Swift and Kotlin, along with familiarity with cross-platform frameworks such as React Native or Flutter.
You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, QA professionals, and other stakeholders to transform business requirements into reliable mobile experiences.
Key Responsibilities
– Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure mobile applications.
– Build solutions for both native iOS and Android platforms as well as hybrid environments.
– Translate business and product requirements into technical solutions.
– Contribute to mobile application architecture and technology decisions.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle.
– Troubleshoot application issues and improve performance, stability, and user experience.
– Optimize mobile applications for responsiveness, reliability, and operational efficiency.
– Participate in Agile development processes and deliver features according to project timelines.
– Conduct code reviews and promote development best practices.
– Mentor junior and mid-level developers and support a culture of continuous learning.
– Research emerging mobile technologies and evaluate opportunities for improvement.
– Ensure mobile solutions align with business objectives and the organization’s digital strategy.
Essential Functions
Mobile Architecture & Development
– Lead the design and development of mobile application architectures.
– Select appropriate frameworks, libraries, and technologies for native and hybrid applications.
– Develop high-quality applications using modern mobile development practices.
Requirements & Technical Solutions
– Work with product owners, UX/UI designers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements.
– Analyze business needs and translate them into practical technical solutions.
– Provide development estimates and contribute to project planning.
Code Quality & Security
– Conduct peer code reviews and enforce coding standards.
– Follow mobile development best practices and security protocols.
– Ensure applications meet applicable accessibility and quality standards.
Performance & Scalability
– Optimize applications for speed, responsiveness, battery efficiency, and stability.
– Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and memory-related issues.
– Build solutions capable of supporting evolving business and user requirements.
Collaboration & Project Support
– Work closely with project managers and cross-functional development teams.
– Participate in Agile ceremonies and development activities.
– Support projects from initial requirements through final delivery.
Innovation & Mentorship
– Stay informed about emerging mobile development technologies and industry trends.
– Evaluate new tools and frameworks that could improve mobile products.
– Mentor junior and mid-level developers and encourage knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications
– 5–7+ years of professional experience in native mobile application development.
– Strong experience developing native iOS applications using Swift.
– Strong experience developing native Android applications using Kotlin.
– Experience with hybrid or cross-platform frameworks such as React Native or Flutter.
– Strong understanding of mobile application architecture and development practices.
– Experience troubleshooting and optimizing mobile applications.
– Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
– Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
– Ability to work effectively with product, design, backend, and QA teams.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Pay: $100,000–$110,000 per year
